A Preview of our Session at Agile 2012

In less than two weeks, Agile 2012 will be underway in Dallas, Texas. It’s an exciting time to learn, share, and fellowship with thousands of Agile practitioners and thought leaders from around the world.

This year, I am fortunate to be presenting the Cars.com Agile Transformation Journey with our Agile coach, Si Alhir, along with a little help from a few other Cars.com folks attending the conference. We are scheduled to present on Thursday, August 16th at 1:30pm. You can find more details here.

If you will be attending the conference this year, I hope you can join us! For those attending, here is a quick preview of what you will walk away with from our session:

A Proven Approach to Agile Transformation. Over 6 months, Cars.com moved from a heavily siloed and slow organization to a company with dedicated product teams, each delivering frequent value to our customers. We will share how we did it.

Real-life Stories from the Trenches. You will hear directly from an Agile Coach, a Methodology Leader, and two Cars.com Scrum Masters on what worked, what didn’t work, and what we are working on. You will hear the pain points we encountered so you can avoid them along your journey.

A Model to Sustain and Evolve an Agile Transformation for the Long Run. We have been fully functioning using Agile for the past year. You’ll hear how we are continuing to improve and evolve our Agile framework and how we are using Communities of Practice to generate continuous improvement. You will also hear how we are expanding Agile to others areas of the company (such as marketing and operations).

There will be a period for questions and answers but if you have any questions before hand, feel free to ask them in the comments below.

Hope to see you in Texas…giddyup!
